How a hosted Nuclei scan runs
Port discovery
ProjectDiscovery's naabu checks the top 1,000 ports on each target, and httpx works out which of the open ports serve HTTP or HTTPS.
Two Nuclei passes
Network, SSL/TLS, and other non-HTTP templates run against every open port. HTTP templates run only against the web services httpx found, so they don't waste time on SSH or database ports.
Every severity, current templates
Templates are updated before every scan, and results cover info through critical. Most of Nuclei's service and TLS detections are rated info, so keeping that level means you see which services are exposed alongside the CVEs.
